1.14.0 · 8 September 2026

  • Type the label size you measured, and it prints at that size. A new stationery choice — *My own size* — follows the width and height you type instead of squaring them up to an A4 sheet. The first sticker starts in the very corner, the next one after the width plus the gap, and the page is your labels and nothing else. Every other stationery answers "what is this cut to" and then changes your design to agree; this one does not.
  • The software works out how many fit across your printer. It asks the printer itself what it can mark — never a paper chart, which is wrong the day you buy a machine that is not on it — and says on the screen how many labels of that width fit, with one button to take the answer. A label wider than the print head is said plainly, before the roll goes through.
  • A label sheet that will not fit is no longer printed silently. An A4 sheet design sent to a label printer came out at half size in a corner of the stock, with nothing anywhere saying why: Windows does not refuse a page bigger than the printer takes, it substitutes its own and shrinks the artwork into it. The screen now names the printer, both page widths, what fraction of its size each label will be, and the setting that fixes it.
  • The gap between labels does what the box says. A hidden per-column setting could quietly beat the one on the card, so a shop set 4mm and got none, with the box still reading 4. Clearing a number box no longer stores a zero either — blank means "not said", and a typed 0 still means 0.
  • Something dropped in the wrong place can be removed where it is. A red cross on the element itself, and the button in the panel now says what it removes — *Delete barcode*, *Delete box* — instead of sitting sixth in a row of six identical buttons. Undo was the only way out before, and it undoes everything done since, not just the mistake.
  • The tab key stops losing your place. Typing a number on the label screen and tabbing on used to leave the cursor nowhere at all, so the next keystroke went into the void.
  • Common stock sizes are one press. 25×25, 38×25, 50×25, 50×50, 60×40, 75×50, 100×50 and 100×150 — the sizes suppliers actually list. The boxes stay free text, because a label you measured beats a catalogue.

  • A power against each pair, so a whole family bills on one bill. The father pays, the son takes lenses, his mother takes lenses of her own and a frame goes on the same bill. Every lens line now carries its own power and its own name — press the small 👓 box on the line, fill the eyes, type *SON* or *MOTHER*, and it prints against that line. Before this the bill held one prescription for everything on it.
  • A shop that keeps no lenses in stock can still print the power. Most opticians order every lens in against the customer's order and stock none of them. Nothing has to be ticked, no lot has to be opened: type the power on the line and it is on the paper the customer walks out with. A shop that does keep lenses by power types nothing at all — the lot it already picked prints as the power.
  • His own last power, never whoever came in last. The recall button on a line asks for that NAME. A son with no earlier pair of his own is offered nothing rather than his mother's eyes.
  • On all three papers. The A4 bill, the thermal roll and the WhatsApp message each carry every line's power and the name against it. Where the lines carry powers, the card at the top of the bill steps aside so the customer is never handed two different prescriptions on one paper — the PD, who tested the eyes and the remarks still print.
  • It still refuses nothing. A cylinder with no axis or a power off the quarter step is now said line by line, naming which pair the lab cannot grind. Every one of them is a notice. The bill still saves.

  • An optical counter, for any shop that adds one. Switch *Optical store* on under Settings → Trade profile and the bill grows a small Power card: right and left eye, SPH, CYL, AXIS and ADD, the PD, and who tested the eyes. It prints on the A4 bill, on the thermal roll and in the WhatsApp message, so the customer has their own power in writing wherever they read it. It is not a separate kind of business — a chemist, a general store or a dedicated optician all keep the trade they already have and simply switch this on.
  • "Use his last power." A returning customer's previous prescription is offered on the bill, dated, in one button. It is read off his last BILL, so what you dispensed last year stays exactly as it was billed even after his sight changes.
  • Lenses can be kept by power. Tick *Keep this in stock power by power* on a lens and each power becomes its own lot with its own quantity — the same machinery batches and serial numbers already use, so the stock report, the item ledger and the printed bill all agree. Frames, cases and solutions bill as ordinary items. Contact lenses add base curve and diameter, and expire like any other dated stock.
  • It tells you what looks wrong and refuses nothing. A cylinder with no axis, a power that is not a quarter step, a PD nobody has, and — the one that matters — a lens on the bill with no power entered at all. Every one is a notice beside the boxes. The bill still saves. A shop must always be able to bill.
  • The financial year on the "Continue in" screen was invisible. It was drawn in white on a white box on the first screen you see when you open a company, so the year looked missing and the button looked broken. Both were there the whole time.

1.11.0 · 5 September 2026

  • A new, smaller edition: LITE. A sale billing book — your items, your parties, a GST sale bill on any paper size, with your own logo, signature and payment QR. It does not do purchases, stock, challans, quotations, credit notes, receipts, payments or GST returns; a shop that needs those wants Basic. Screens Lite does not include are not in its menu, and walking to one by an old shortcut says which edition it comes with rather than opening an empty form.
  • Light and dark, from the top bar. The switch sits beside your company name on every screen, with LIGHT and DARK written either side. Dark was already in the software and was four clicks inside Settings, where nobody found it. Your printed bills are unaffected — paper is white either way.
  • Messages you can read in dark. The pop-up at the bottom of the screen was white text on a white box in the dark theme, and the working-year chip was brown on brown. Six places in all.
  • Settings stays where you left it. Changing a setting no longer scrolls the panel back to the top and shuts every section you had opened.
  • The bank details card has a save button. It collected four fields and had nothing to press; the nearest Update was in a different section.
  • Renew on or before your due date and you get an extra month — thirteen for the price of twelve. Your dashboard now tells you the date it buys, not just that a renewal is due.
  • Bigger, clearer type on the four buttons you press all day, and the F-keys on them are readable now — they were rendering at nine pixels, the smallest type in the product.

  • Take a copy home. Settings → Data lists the pen drives that are plugged in, by name, and copies your whole shop onto one. Your books are already saved in three places on this computer — and one bad day takes all three together, because anything running on the machine can write to all of them. A drive that is not plugged in cannot be touched. The dashboard reminds you if a week goes by.
  • Restore from the pen drive without hunting for it. It appears in the restore list beside the copies on this computer, named after the drive.
  • Check my stock adds up. Settings → Data adds up every bill, purchase, return, challan, goods receipt and stock voucher, and compares the answer with what each item is showing. A difference is usually not a mistake — opening stock and imports put goods on the shelf with no document behind them — so the screen offers both honest answers: record it as opening stock and keep the quantity, or recalculate the shelf from the documents. Only the shop knows which, so the software does not choose.
  • An extra counter no longer says the main counter is unreachable while it is sitting there working. A busy main counter could stall the connection long enough for the other till to give up.
  • Nothing to do on update. Your books are converted the first time the new version opens them, and every backup you already hold still restores.

1.9.0 · 3 September 2026

  • Barcode labels print at their real size. Small labels — the 38 × 21 mm default and the ready-made designs below it — were being routed to the sheet printer and laid out as A4. They now go to the label printer at the size set.
  • Labels on a receipt roll come out right. Where the printer demands a six-inch page, a run now stacks six 25 mm stickers into it instead of wasting the roll, and the label can sit left, centred or right across the paper.
  • A sheet of stickers prints on one sheet. A three-sheet run used to spill onto six pages, cutting the bottom row of every sheet across the die cut.
  • Large label runs print in full. 2,000 tags asked for printed 500, silently. No cap now — one confirmation reads the count back in sheets.
  • The Print labels dialog shows the label before printing, and the designer no longer scrolls back to the top after every edit.
  • The WhatsApp bill link works on every install. Sharing a bill as a PDF needed a file placed by hand on the counter machine, so on most installs it quietly fell back to plain text.
